Gennifer Flowers

Gennifer Flowers is an actress and singer who, in 1992, almost derailed Bill Clinton's path to the presidency by claiming to have had a 12-year relationship with him during his time as Governor of Arkansas.

1992 Election Controversy

Flowers came forward with her allegations on the eve of the New Hampshire primaries in 1992, at a time when Clinton led rival Paul Tsongas by almost 16 points in the polls. In an effort to counter Flowers's allegations, Bill and Hillary Clinton appeared on a special 60 Minutes episode aired at the conclusion of Super Bowl XXVI.
During the episode, Clinton admitted causing "pain" in his marriage, but denied a relationship with Flowers in particular. The following day, Flowers held a press conference in which she played excerpts from recordings she had made of phone calls with Clinton.
While the scandal threatened to end Clinton's bid, he continued to campaign and eventually secured the nomination. Later that year, Flowers appeared nude in Penthouse magazine.
Life Since 1992

In 1998, Clinton admitted to a sexual relationship with Flowers in a deposition and the following year, Flowers sued George Stephanopoulos and James Carville for defamation. The lawsuit was eventually thrown out. After living in New Orleans and running a cabaret show for several years, Hurricane Katrina forced Flowers to move to Las Vegas. In 2008, she announced that she was auctioning off the tapes of the phone conversations between her and Clinton.
Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones

In 2008, Flowers teamed up with another woman who claimed an affair with Bill Clinton, Paula Jones. Together the duo launched the website GenniferandPaula.com, selling videos of the ladies chatting about their experiences with the Clinton.
