Genetically-Modified Food (GM Food) is created from organisms that have had their genomes artificially altered. This can be done for several reasons, such as making crops resistant to insects or tolerant of herbicides. The process has become controversial, however, based on questions concerning the long-term health effects of consuming GM Foods.
