General Tso's Chicken

General Tso's chicken is a popular dish served at many Asian restaurants. The dish features breaded chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce, made with sugar and dried chili peppers.

How to Make General Tso's Chicken

  1. Heat the corn oil in a wok or deep frying pan.
  2. Mix the cornstarch and egg in a medium bowl.
  3. Add the chicken chunks to the egg mixture, then place chicken into the hot oil.
  4. Fry the chicken for four to five minutes or until browned. Drain chicken on paper towels.
  5. Mix the soy sauce, water, ginger, rice vinegar and garlic in a small bowl.
  6. Carefully discard the oil, reserving one tablespoon in the pan.
  7. Add the red pepper flakes and chili peppers to the oil and fry for one minute, stirring frequently.
  8. Add the chicken and sauce to the pan. Cook for two to three minutes.
  9. Serve over rice, if desired, and enjoy.
