Comedian, actor and writer Gene Wilder made his film debut in 1967 with a small role in Bonnie and Clyde, and went on to star in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein, and many other films. As a comic actor, he is known for a wry, eccentric style, reminiscent of British actor Peter Sellers. He has worked with Mel Brooks, Woody Allen, Richard Pryor, Madeline Kahn and other respected names in American comedy. After the ovarian cancer-related death of his third wife, SNL comic Gilda Radner, Wilder founded the Gilda Radner Ovarian Cancer Detection Center.
