Gears of War 2

The sequel to the 2006 third-person tactical shooter Gears of War for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 2 features a deeper story with new characters, new weapons and new enemies. New gameplay features include the player's ability to duel with enemies using the chainsaw Lancer attachment and the co-operative Horde mode. The basic core elements of Gears of War remain the same, with an emphasis on using cover rather than "run and gun" style gameplay.

All Fronts

The new "All Fronts Collection" will contain seven new multiplayer maps and a new campaign mission. The new mission, entitled Road to Ruin, details Marcus and Dom's return to Locust Hollow for some traditional, action-packed play or an "all-new stealth mode." Priced at $19.99, the collection, also containing all previously released Gears of War 2 DLC, will be available both at retail as a code for download and through Xbox Live on July 28, 2009.IGN: Gears of War 2: All Fronts Announced (May 6, 2009)

Story

Gears of War 2 begins six months after the detonation of the Lightmass Bomb at the end of Gears of War. In addition to the destruction of most of the Locust Horde, the explosion caused much of the liquid Imulsion underground to vaporize, spreading "Rust Lung" among the remaining human population. To stop the fall of the Jacinto Plateau, one of the last remaining human strongholds, Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago and a new Delta Squad spearhead a counterattack against the enemy Locusts.
