• To celebrate the release of Gears of War 2, Epic Games offered a gold-plated Hammerburst assault rifle to everybody who attended midnight launch events on November 7, 2008.   In addition to the exclusive weapon, midnight launch attendees received a code to download the Flashback Map Pack for free. The pack consists of five popular maps from the original Gears of War game: Canals, Gridlock, Mansion, Subway and Tyro Station.
