GC.ca is the official website of the Canadian government. It is available in both French and English, the two official languages of Canada. The website has information on Canada's international relationships, national news, each sector of the Canadian government, employment opportunities, tax information and more.

History

The Canadian government website was made available in approximately 1996 and was built on the so-called "GIFT" (Government Information Finder Technology) infrastructure. Today the site, which receives over 10,000 visitors per day, boasts a wealth of information on Canada as well as a modern design.

Community and Culture

Due to its position as a government website, the Canadian government's website reflects world views and interests of the Canadian parliament and that of Canadians themselves.
