  • Gavin Rossdale is a British rock musician who was once the frontman for the rock group Bush. He was also the lead singer and guitarist of the band Institute. Institute broke up in 2006, after just one album.

In April 2009, cross-dressing British singer Marilyn, also known by his real name Peter Robinson, claimed to have had a five year gay relationship with Rossdale, saying the rock singer was the "love of his life." Both Marilyn and Rossdale had previously denied rumors of an affair. Pop singer Boy George first made the allegation of an affair between the two in his 1995 book, Take It Like A Man. Rossdale is currently married to Gwen Stefani.TransWorldNews: Marilyn Admits Gay Affair with Gavin Rossdale (April 22, 2009)

  • Criticism

While with Bush, Rossdale experienced a great amount of success in the United States, but in the UK, not so much. Their debut album Sixteen Stone was met with some criticism in the states though. Some critics claimed they were an inferior to bands like Nirvana and Pixies. Even Rossdale's vocals were criticized. Some felt they were a ripoff of Nirvana's frontman, Kurt Cobain.
  • Music After Bush

All of Bush's albums following their debut did not match the success of the first one. The band disbanded in 2002. Rossdale then formed the band Institute. Their debut album, Distort Yourself, was only moderately successful. The group fell apart in 2006. Shortly thereafter Rossdale began pursuing a solo career. His debut solo single, "Love Remains The Same," was released on April 1, 2008, through digital retailers. It is off of his new album WANDERlust, which is slated for release on June 3.
