During halftime of the first game of the 2008-2009 NFL season, a new Windows ad aired which features Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. The second ad in the campaign aired September 12, 2008.

First Ad

Synopsis

While eating a churro, Jerry Seinfeld happens upon Bill Gates shopping at "Shoe Circus." Seinfeld takes on the role of shoe salesperson, advising Gates on which shoes to buy. Synopsis

Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld have moved in with a regular family a la The Simple Life TV show.AllThingsDigital: Gates and Seinfeld the Hilton and Ritchie of Tech They live with a married couple and their three children, and the crotchety housekeeper in a house in the suburbs. The ad shows Seinfeld and Gates in a series of funny situations with the family, which culminates when the daughter frames the pair for stealing the family's prized leather giraffe. The two finally pack up and leave, walking down the street together talking about connecting people and the next stage of that, where Seinfeld postulates that next animals will have email. The advertisement is the first in a series of several which will feature Seinfeld and Gates as part of a $300 million Windows ad campaign.
