  • Gary Michael Hilton, also known as Gary Hilton, is serving a life sentence for the grisly murder of Georgia hiker Meredith Emerson. On February 29, he was charged with the murder of Cheryl Dunlap in Florida. Hilton is also being investigated for the murder of John and Irene Bryant, who disappeared while hiking in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest on October 21, 2007.

    In 1995, Hilton advised producer Samuel Rael on the movie Deadly Run, about a man who kidnaps women and murders them in the woods, a scenario strangely similar to Hilton's actual crimes. After hearing about Hilton's conviction, Rael commented on how similar the crime was to scenarios Hilton had suggested for Deadly Run.
