Gary McGurk was arrested for the gruesome murder of his ex-girlfriend Michelle Lee. Lee was found tied to her bed with her throat slashed on April 27, 2009, in her Sunnside, Queens, New York apartment by her roommate.
McGurk, originally from Ireland, was arrested on May 21, 2009. Police say McGurk, age 23, conned Lee, who worked as a civilian criminologist in an NYPD laboratory, into giving him thousands of dollars. Lee wrote in her diary that McGurk claimed he had cancer and was uninsured.
