Career
In 1976, Gary Larson sold a series of cartoons to Pacific Search magazine for $90.NNDB: Gary Larson Profile After this small success, Larson decided to pursue a career as a cartoonist. He was able get his cartoon, Nature's Way, featured on a weekly basis in The Seattle Times. The comic drew complaints from the newspaper's readers and was cancelled. Larson submitted a sample of his work to The San Francisco Chronicle and was hired to make the cartoons a daily feature in the paper. The strip was renamed The Far Side and was syndicated nationwide until Larson's retirement in 1995. -
