Garry Trudeau is the American cartoonist who created the comic strip Doonesbury.
Career
Garry Trudeau started Doonesbury in 1970. Known for its satiric take on various social and political topics, the comic strip is currently published in 1400 newspapers.Slate Magazine: GBT's FAQs
Trudeau became the first Pulitzer Prize-winning comic strip artist in 1975.Rolling Stone: Doonesbury Goes to War (August 5, 2004) His success with Donnesbury continued when an animated NBC film, A Donnesbury Special, earned a "Best Animated Short Film" Academy Award nomination. It also won the "Special Jury Prize" at the 1978 Cannes Film Festival.
Aside from Donnesbury, Trudeau created and wrote the Emmy-winning TV miniseries Tanner '88.
