Gardening Vs. Farming
Gardening and farming both focus on growing plants. Farming is usually done across a larger area than gardening is (although not always; arboretums and palace gardens have historically been as large as farms). While gardening is rarely done for commercial purposes, farming is usually meant to grow plants as a commercial venture, either to sell the whole plant or specific parts for another person's use. -
Gardening Tips
- Garden area should get a minimum of six hours of sunlight per day
- Do not plant beside walls or fences
- Use a border to separate garden from grass
- Remove grassy sod from garden area to a depth of four inches
- Place leaves and compost on garden area four inches deep for two weeks before planting
