    • Grow from Seed: The most economical way to grow a garden are from seeds.
    • Grow Organically: Organically grown veggies taste better and may be more nutritious.
    • Slightly Acid Soil: Veggies require a pH of 6.0 - 6.8, generally the more rainfall your area gets, the lower the pH.
    • Fertilize: Use about 1/2 pound of manure or compost per square foot of garden space.
    • Water: Vegetable gardens are water hogs, be prepared to water at least once every 3 days, and often more.
    • Raised Beds: Plant in raised beds to minimize fertilizer needs, improve drainage, and maximize space.
  • Grow Your Own

Your own garden can provide you with fresh fruits and vegetables that often taste better than store-bought. A garden can be started with a small plot of land, or even in pots. A 12x12 garden can supply you with $200 of fresh veggies a year! Gardening is rewarding and great physical exercise too.
