  • Game Boy is a portable video game system from Nintendo. Upon its introduction to the market in 1989 it revolutionized video game playing, freeing players from clunky home consoles and allowing video games to be played almost anywhere. Its simple black and green screen allowed 35 hours of play time on four AA batteries. Several iterations were released by Nintendo in the following years, and all told over one hundred millions units have sold worldwide.
