On July 3, 2009, police in Gaffney, South Carolina confirmed that they were looking for a serial killer. The same suspect is believed to have shot and killed five people in the area in five days. The first murder took place on June 27, 2009.
On July 6, 2009, police shot and killed a man who they believe were responsible for the killings. The man, 41-year-old Patrick Tracy Burris, was shot after officers responded to a burglary complaint. radiolidertv added a comment July 07, 2009 01:46 AM| ReportIt is important to note that it was Gastonia Police officers in North Carolina shot and killed the suspect. Neighbors reported suspicious activity at an abandon dwelling. Upon arrival police questioned the suspect who opened fire, wounding a police officer in the leg. Gastonia is located approximately 45 minutes north east from the area where the killings took place, across the state line into North Carolina.
