Gaetano Lo Presti was an alleged mob boss of the Palermo, Italy-area mafia and a member of the mafia clans believed to be rebuilding the Cosa Nostra mafia family. Lo Presti was found hanged to death on December 17, 2008, in an apparent suicide, only hours after being arrested during an Italian police anti-Mafia raid operation. Lo Presti was one of more than 90 mafia clan members apprehended in Operation Perseus and was described as being "very important" within the criminal organization.
