The Nebraska born brunette started her acting career with guest appearances in television shows shows such as Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show and 7th Heaven.

She made her motion picture debut in the film She's All That starring Rachael Leigh Cook. She followed up that success with high profile roles in films like 10 Things I Hate About You with Julia Stiles and Love & Basketball with Sanaa Lathan.

In 2000, she had her break through role in the box office hit Bring it On with Kirsten Dunst playing the main antagonist Isis.
