Funny Games is a 1998 film directed and written by Michael Haneke, starring Susanne Lothar, Ulrich Muhe, Arno Frisch, Frank Giering and Stefan Clapczynski. It was nominated for a Golden Palm, and won a Silver Hugo for best director.The film explores our violent society, by following a German family during a weekend holiday, where they are confronted by two passing men, resulting in a weekend of violence.

Plot Synopsis
A German family of good status, husband Georg, his wife Anna and their son Georgie, are having a weekend holiday in a house near a lake. While settling in, a visitor named Peter passes by, who courteously asks for some eggs. However, the friendliness soon changes to confrontation, and as Peter is joined by his friend Paul, they kidnap the family and start a weekend of violence and torture.
