Several television and sketch comedy programs have used food as a centerpiece for humorous antics. Some of the more popular acts to take advantage of food comedy have been Saturday Night Live, Monty Python, and Seinfeld.
No Soup For You!
"The Soup Nazi" is an episode of the popular sitcom Seinfeld that aired in 1995. The episode features an uptight and demanding soup kitchen chef that is easily irritated by his customers. If the Soup Nazi is bothered by a customer for any reason, he shouts the phrase, "no soup for you," and forces the customer to leave, possibly with a ban on returning. The episode is considered to be one of the best episodes in the series' run.
Other food comedy moments have been created by the likes of Lucille Ball on her show I Love Lucy in which she and friend Ethel find themselves in a situation involving fast moving chocolates. The Monty Python comedy troupe has also used Spam to get laughs from the audience.
