Funkadelic

Categories: Entertainment
  • Funkadelic was originally George Clinton's doo-wop group, Parliament. After a deal went bad with the original record company and the members began playing under the name "Funkadelic" in 1968, and simultaneously under the name Parliament. Not just their name changed, but their style changed too. They were influenced by the times, and left the pop music behind. They merged the sounds of psychedelic rock and soul and created a unique mix of funk. Funkadelic has a psychedelic style, while Parliament focused on a whimsical stage show.
