The Fund for Independence in Journalism was created to provide funding for the Center For Public Integrity and similar groups that use investigative journalism to scrutinize politicians and governmental entities.
Criticism
The Fund for Independence in Journalism was criticized by some for its report that the Bush Administration had made nearly 1,000 false statements leading up to the Iraq War. The report was called a "left wing smear" and was criticized for being an example of the very media bias that the fund stood against.Never Yet Melted: Latest Leftwing Smear (January 23, 2008)
