Found all over the world and in almost every color of the rainbow, frogs are highly adaptive amphibians, changing their habits and even their skin color to match their environment. You can recognize a frog by its bulging eyes, squat body, long back legs and webbed feet. A frog's skin is smooth or slimy, not warty and dry like a toad's, and frogs do not have tails like salamanders and lizards.
Populations of frogs have declined significantly since 1970 and have been losing ground even more rapidly in recent years. At least a third of frog species are now in danger of extinction.
