Freshwater angelfish are a type of South American cichlid that originate from the Amazon River and its tributaries.
Angel fish are generally disc-shaped with large triangular fins on the top and bottom of their bodies. Although selective breeding has produced a variety of patterns, naturally occurring angelfish have dark vertical stripes that allow them to camouflage themselves among aquatic plants. Fast Facts:
