French Onion Soup Ingredients
- Two pounds of sweet onions
- Beef or Chicken Broth
- 1 cup White Wine
- Suggested cheeses: Gruyere, Swiss, Fontina
- Garlic, Thyme, Bay Leaf, Sugar, Salt, Black Pepper
- Sliced French bread on the side

French Onion Soup Recipes
- Peel and slice onion lengthwise. Do not chop finely.
- Salt and pepper onions and grill for up to an hour, until onions have browned and caramelized.
- When the onions have reduced add white wine until it takes on the consistency of syrup.
- Add beef or chicken stock and other herbs and simmer for 30 minutes
- Remove soup to individual bowls and cover with shredded cheese.
