Freeway began rapping in high school against fellow classmates and often performed at small venues and nightclubs. He frequently participated in MC battles and made a name for himself for consistently strong performances. It was at one of these small concerts that he met Beanie Sigel, also a struggling rapper. The two formed a friendship and promised each other that if one became big, he would help the other with their career. When Sigel was signed to Roc-A-Fella Records shortly after he lived up to his promise and helped Freeway get a record deal. Freeway's debut album, Philadelphia Freeway], was released in 2003 and with the help of fellow Roc-A-Fella artists was able to sell over half a million copies. Freeway also performed occasionally as part of State Property, which consisted of Roc-A-Fella artists originally from Philadelphia. Freeway's second album, Free at Last, was released in 2007 but did not see the same success that his first album did. He is currently working on his third album which is expect some time in 2008.
