The Freedom Tower is the projected 1,776-foot structure being built on Ground Zero, the site of the former World Trade Center. The Tower will be one component of a comprehensive reconstruction of the site, which will also include a memorial to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks and a PATH station and transit hub.The New York Times: Rebuilding at 9/11 Site Runs Late, Report Says (July 1, 2008)
