New Year greeting cards and eCards are a popular way to wish a happy New Year to friends and family. The typical New Year greeting was sent through the postal service but with the advent of the Internet in many homes, the eCard has become an increasingly accepted form of greeting.

ECards became a popular way to greet family and friends when the Internet became a household staple. ECards are often serious, animated, funny and risque. They are sent directly from the Internet to the recipient's e-mail inbox.
