  • Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is the first Saturday in May, when participating comic book shops in North America give away comic books.     Since 2002, comic book stores participating in Free Comic Book Day have given away millions of free comics. Intended to support literacy and comic book sales, FCBD 2009 comes the day after Hugh Jackman's new X-Men Origins Wolverine Game is released.
