  • Fredrik Sjostrom is a professional hockey player originally from Sweden. He currently plays for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League
  • Career Highlights

    Sjostrom began his career playing junior hockey in his native Sweden, first for the MoDo Hockey, then for the Frolunda HC. He was drafted 11th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes. Shortly after the draft, he played for the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League. Sjostrom then joined the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons in 2003. He made his NHL debut with the Coyotes during the 2003-04 regular season. Sjostrom returned to the AHL during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. He re-signed with the Coyotes in 2006, then was traded to the New York Rangers on February 26, 2008.
