    Norrena was drafted 213th overall in the 2002 NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Following the draft, Norrena played in Sweden for four seasons. On June 30, 2006, he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Norrena joined the Blue Jackets for his NHL debut that same year. He played 55 of 82 games during his rookie year, winning 24 games and finishing with a respectable 2.78 goal against average.
