Freddy Sanchez is a second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After graduating from Burbank High School in 1996, Sanchez went on to play baseball for Glendale Community College, and Dallas Baptist University, before senior year at Oklahoma City University where he was named a NAIA All-Star. On June 5, 2000, the Boston Red Sox selected Sanchez in the 11th round of the amateur draft. He made his MLB debut with the Red Sox on September 10, 2002. After two seasons as a utility infielder, the Red Sox traded Sanchez to the Pirates along with Mike Gonzalez and cash, for Brandon Lyon, Jeff Suppan, and Anastacio Martinez. Sanchez has made two All-Star team with the Pirates, first in 2006 and again in 2007
Strengths
Sanchez hits lefties extremely well. He is a terrific contact-hitter, with a little power[1].

Strikeouts and injuries are a concern for Sanchez[1].
