MLB Career

Freddy Garcia was originally signed by the Houston Astros in 1993, but he did not make his Major League debut until 1999 with the Seattle Mariners. Garcia was selected to the All-Star Game in 2001 and 2002 while with the Mariners. He joined the Chicago White Sox in 2004 and was the starting pitcher in Game 4 of the 2005 World Series, pitching seven innings with no earned runs in the championship-clinching win.

Garcia was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies for the 2007 season. However, Garcia only managed one win in 11 starts before being put on the disabled list in June with a shoulder injury. He was released at the end of the season and was a free agent until signing a minor league contract with the Tigers during the 2008 season.
