Early Life
Frederick Terrell Jones was born in Malvern, Arkansas on March 11, 1979. He attended Barlow high school in Oregon and continued his education at the University of Oregon. In 2002, Jones was selected with the 14th pick in the NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. Basketball-Reference.com: Fred Jones
Pro Career
In his first season with the Pacers, Jones played in 19 games. In 2003, he was part of the Pacers regular rotation and appeared in 81 games. Jones won the 2004 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He defeated reigning champion Jason Richardson. In 2006, Jones was signed by the Toronto Raptors. Jones was traded in 2007 to the Portland Trail Blazers for Juan Dixon, then traded again to the New York Knicks with Zach Randolph and Dan Dickau for Channing Frye and Steve Francis.
