Fred Crane

Actor and radio announcer Fred Crane played the role of "Brent Tarleton" in the 1939 classic film Gone With The Wind. Crane spoke the opening line in the film.The Associated Press: Actor with Gone with the Wind Opening Line Dies He and his wife, Terry Lynn Crane, owned the Tarleton Oaks Gone With The Wind museum and bed and breakfast located in Georgia. Crane died at the age of 90 on August 21, 2008, from complications of diabetes.
