Frank Lapidus is a character on ABC's Lost and is played by Jeff Fahey. Frank was first introduced when he helped the Survivors ward off Martin Keamy, and rescued a group later known as the Oceanic Six.

Before the Island Frank was a pilot from The Bronx, New York. He was supposed to fly Oceanic Flight 815, which was the first plane to crash on the Island, but he accidentally slept in. When flight 815 was on the news as being found in the ocean, Frank called the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and told them that it wasn't really Flight 815, because he knew the pilot, Norris, and he always wore his wedding ring but the corpse identified as Norris was not wearing one. Shortly thereafter Charles Widmore recruited Frank to be his Helicopter pilot. They took a Freighter to the Island and Frank flew the Helicopter from the Freighter to the Island.

On the Island His team consisted of Daniel Faraday, Charlotte Lewis and Miles Straume. Once they landed, John Locke took Charlotte hostage, so Frank flew Desmond Hume and Sayid Jarrah to the freighter. Frank soon realized Martin Keamy was a violent man, so he helped the survivors avoid Keamy and his team. Some survivors were able to escape and Frank flew them to safety on his Helicopter. But because there wasn’t enough fuel the group is forced to crash into the ocean, they used a lifeboat until they were rescued by Penny Widmore.

Back on the Island About three years later, Frank was working for a commercial airline, when he came across the same group again all together on his plane. His plane ended up having to land back on the Island. Eventually Frank realized that a group of his passengers, lead by Ilana, had guns, when Frank was unable to answer Ilana puzzling question, she took frank hostage. Frank was taken through the jungle to meet the Others at the foot of a statue. While there Frank admitted to Sun that he did not trust Ilana, then they saw the [{Man in Black Lost|Man in Black]] disguised as John Locke. Frank, Ben, Sun and Ilana headed to the Temple to try to rescue any one there from the Man in Black, but they only succeeded in rescuing Miles. The group decided to set up camp at the beach.
