Canadian professional hockey player Francois Beauchemin plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Beauchemin was drafted 75th overall in the 1999 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He played for a variety of minor league teams after the draft before joining the Canadiens for his NHL debut in 2003. On September 15, 2004, Beauchemin was claimed off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He played for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League during the 2004-05 NHL lockout, then joined the Blue Jackets for the beginning of the 2005-06 season. Beauchemin played 11 games with the Blue Jackets before he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks on November 15, 2005.
