On this Mahalo page you will find information about the French World Cup jersey.
The France national football team was founded in 1904. It has represented France regularly in international competition, including in the 1908 Summer Olympics and the inaugural World Cup in 1930. Despite their early participation in international events, it's only been recently that French soccer has seen some major success. Prior to winning the 1984 European Championship and Olympic Gold Medal, France had not won a major tournament, nor placed significantly in any international event, save for a third place finish in the 1958 World Cup.
Starting with 1984, however, France has seen a major improvement in it's international fortunes. The '84 European Champions were able to repeat in 2000. The French took the 1998 World Cup (which was hosted in France), and repeated with a strong showing in 2006, losing in the final to rival Italy. Many of the same players formed the team that won the Confederations Cup back-to-back in 2001 and 2003.
The French football kit, which includes the socks and shorts, in addition to the jersey, is colored after the French flag in blue, red, and white. It has been that way since their first international game in 1904. Known as "Les Bleus', France's national teams have most commonly worn a primarily blue jersey, and the football team is no exception. The French logo is a stylized Cock, which is the logo of the French Football Federation.www.fff.fr http://www.answers.com/topic/soccer
