Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock made its debut on the HBO network in January of 1983. The sections of the show which featured the Fraggles were shown throughout the world, however the secondary characters such as sprocket and his companions were shot differently for other countries in which the show was played.

A Fraggle Rock movie has also been in the works. Cory Williams was slated to write and direct the new film. The movie was originally set to premiere in late 2009, however the film has now been delayed until 2012. There were numerous Fraggles in Fraggle Rock. The main group of Fraggles were Gobo the leader, Mokey the artist, Red the enthusiastic one, Wembley the nervous and high strung one, and Boober was the worrying type.

Dooziers also lived in Fraggle Rock. These creatures were smaller than Fraggles, and they spent the majority of their time working. They specialized in construction, they wore hard hats and boots. They built their 'constructions' out of radishes. Radishes were the favorite food of Fraggles. Therefore, Fraggles ate the constructions, and the Dooziers rebuilt.

Gorgs lived outside of an alternate exit from Fraggle Rock. They were giant furry creatures that hated the Fraggles, and considered them pests.
