Fracture is a 2007 crime drama directed by Gregory Hoblit and starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling.
Plot Summary

After Ted Crawford shoots and kills his disloyal wife, he turns himself in and confesses his crime to the police. At the arraignment, he pleads not guilty and insists upon defending himself in the upcoming trial. Ace district attorney Willy Beachum is assigned the case, which will be his last as a prosecutor before he joins a successful private practice. Over the course of the trial, Crawford is able to discredit many of the prosecution's arguments and prove himself a worthy adversary.
