Fracture is an action game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, developed by Day 1 Studios and published by LucasArts.
Story
In the year 2161, climate change has ravaged the United States, destroying the Midwest entirely and creating a geographical divide between the West Coast and the East Coast, which form separate societies: The Republic of Pacifica and The Atlantic Alliance. Gameplay
Fracture is a third-person shooter and the game's main feature is the Terrain Deformation systemin which special weapons and grenades can be used to create hills, craters and more instantly from the ground. The Entrencher is the main terrain deformation weapon - it allows the player to raise or lower the ground instantly, and is used to solve environmental puzzles, create cover, and attack enemies. There are also special grenades that create black holes, form hills and spires out of dirt, and more.
For its third-person shooting gameplay and archetypal protagonist, Fracture has been likened to games like Gears of War and Halo.IGN: Fracture Review (PS3) (October 2, 2008)
