Four Tet is an electronic music project from the UK which is organized by musician Kieran Hebden, who has released material under that name as well. Four Tet's music is electronically-produced, but typically samples a variety of instruments. The overall composition of his music draws influences from hip-hop to folk into its generally techno- and ambient-heavy electronic style.
Brief History
Musician Kieran Hebden began his career as the guitarist for the English post-rock band, Fridge. In 1998, he began releasing his own electronically-produced material under the name Four Tet. In addition to gaining popularity with his numerous releases, Four Tet has also opened for Radiohead on their 2003 European tour, worked with jazz drummer Steve Reid, and remixed a number of bands including Bloc Party, Kings of Convenience, and Thom Yorke's solo material.
