Fossil watches are made by Fossil Inc., a major manufacturer of clothing, jewelry, belts, purses, sunglasses, wallets and accessories. Fossil is based out of Richardson Texas in the United States. Fossil watches can be found in most department store and are consider moderately price, with prices starting around $75 dollars.
Zodiac the Swiss watch company had been operating since 1882 when Fossil bought it out 2001. This enabled Fossil to acquire a higher end brand of watch, and quickly went about completely redesigning it to reflect a more retro 70's style, with a high end price tag. And in 2004, with the purchase of Michele Watch it completed Fossils desire for a high end Swiss watch with a designer appeal.
In the early days of Fossil, its watches were known for their vintage designs and low prices.
