On October 18, 2009, Jenson Button became the 2009 world champion and Brawn GP officially won the 2009 constructors championship.

On November 4th, 2009 Toyota pulled out of Formula One, joining Honda (2008) and BMW (2009). Brigestone also announced they will opt out after the 2010 season as the sole tire supplier for the series.

  • The Car

Similar to Indy cars, Formula One cars are open cockpit, open-wheel, mid-engined, single-seat racers. The body consists of parts made mostly out of carbon fiber to reduce the weight of the car. Aerodynamics is also key to reaching necessary speeds for an F1 car. Every aspect of the car, from suspension to brakes, is carefully tuned and calculated. Nearly all of the car's gauges and controls can be found on the removable steering wheel. This allows the driver to maintain focus on the road while having all the important information up front.Official Site: Understanding the Sport
