Forgetting Sarah Marshall Good Reviews
- Variety: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "Reprising his successful Knocked Up formula of uninhibited bawdiness and chick-flick sweetness, with side orders of slapstick and showbiz satire, producer Judd Apatow looks to have scored another long-legged hit..."
- The Hollywood Reporter: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "Forgetting Sarah Marshall might not be as outrageous as Superbad or as unusual as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, but it's another comedy that works better than its template promises and should perform well (if not breakthrough, star-making well) at the box office."
- EW.com (B+): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "Nakedness has rarely looked so...naked. And innately, universally comic."
- ReelViews (3.5/4): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "(Segel's) dialogue crackles and he has an instinct when it comes to taking expected romantic comedy scenarios and tweaking them ever-so-slightly so they don't play out exactly as expected."
- Newsweek: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "Segel, a big, fleshy white boy with a face on the borderline between bland and good-looking, may initially seem an odd leading-man choice, but this cherubic sad sack grows on you. That harmless surface conceals killer comic instincts..."
Forgetting Sarah Marshall Neutral Reviews
- USA Today: Remember Judd Apatow's Forgetting Sarah Marshall
- "The good-natured story and likable characters offset the comedy's unevenness, particularly its lagging final half hour."
- The Austin Chronicle (3/5): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "It's that semi-hidden male vulnerability — along with (Segel's) ability to be utterly naked, literally, on camera — that makes his performance in what might otherwise have been a boilerplate romantic comedy feel so fresh and vital."
- Premiere (2.5/5): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "Apatow...has built up a pretty formidable comic repertory company, and the movie is smart to give such seasoned and proven laugh-getters such substantial shots to do their stuff. That said, the picture still takes twenty minutes too long to reach its inevitable conclusion.."
- Slant (2.5/5): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "The tricky equilibrium between sentimentality and vulgarity—in other words, between the respective elements aimed at female and male viewers—isn't steadfastly achieved by Nicholas Stoller, whose directorial debut begins with smashingly funny momentum and then slowly devolves into staid predicaments..."
Forgetting Sarah Marshall Bad Reviews
- The New Yorker: Overripe, Undernourished
- "...moviegoers want a romantic hero with some sex appeal and some strength, and Segel's harmless routine wears us out. Part of the problem is that his director, Nicholas Stoller, doesn't shape the scenes decisively.."
- Film Threat (2/5): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
- "...while the film has some laugh out-loud moments, it's very poorly constructed and what we see onscreen seems to be the victim of either bad editing, poor direction or a script that was rushed into production too quickly."

- Ain't It Cool News: Quint Can't Forget Sarah Marshall!
- "It's always the character work and the willingness to unashamedly go for the raunchy joke that gives the Apatow group it's personality and Forgetting Sarah Marshall has that personality. And heart, which is another key component to Apatow's comedy formula."
