Building Design
A unique feature of the stadium is the presence of skylights and large glass windows allowing abundant amounts of natural light for an indoor stadium. The construction cost of the stadium was between $430-500 million. The stadium sits across the street from the Ford Center and shares a similar design despite being an indoor venue. The field's design incorporates a six-story former Hudson's warehouse which stood in the same spot since the 1920s.To avoid altering the cities timeline, the field and lower level seating were built below street level.
