Force India F1 is a Formula One racing team owned by Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya. Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil were the lead drivers until September 2009 when it was announced that Fisichella would leave team to join Scuderia Ferrari. His replacement is Vitantonio Liuzzi.
On August 29, 2009, Giancarlo Fisichella scored his first ever pole position at the Spa circuit in Belgium. This was also the first pole position for the Force India team.
The team was formed in 2007 out of the departing Spyker F1 team.
