Forbes Magazine, a bi-weekly publication, has released their list of the richest people in the world. The 2008 edition of the list marks the 22nd time the magazine has compiled their list of billionaires. For the first time in 13 straight years, Bill Gates has not attained the number 1 spot despite having a net worth of $56 billion. The number one slot has gone to Gates' friend, Warren Buffett who has amassed a net worth of $62 billion. Coming in second is telecom tycoon, Carlos Slim whose net worth has doubled in the past two years to $62 billion.
