Food, Inc. is a documentary film about the food industry. Director Robert Kenner takes an in depth look at how America's food is controlled by corporations.
This movie explores where our grocery store food really comes from and was the health of our children and grandchildren will be like. Kenner shows the dark side of the American industry. It shows how government regulatory agencies have allowed corporations to put profit ahead of consumer health, the American farmer, worker safety and the environment. E.coli makes 73,000 Americans sick every year, obesity is higher then ever and adult diabetes is epidemic.
The documentary features interviews with Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) as well as with food industry entrepreneurs Gary Hirshberg (Stonyfield) and Joel Salatin (Polyface Farms).Official Site: Food, Inc

Reviews
- "Using research by authors Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) and Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma) as a starting point (both are interviewed in the film), Food, Inc. serves as a primer on the state of agriculture and meat farming in the United States. The film's brief running time doesn't allow director Kenner to delve into too much detail, but he covers enough ground to raise highly troubling questions about the methods and practices used in keeping your supermarket shelves stocked with fresh meat, potato chips and soft drinks."—Miami HeraldMiami Herald: Food, Inc Review (June 18, 2009)
- "I was warned not to eat before seeing Food, Inc., a mind-boggling, heart-rending, stomach-churning expose on the food industry. Unfortunately, no one told me I might never want to ingest anything ever again."—San Francisco ChronicleSF Gate: Review: Food, Inc. not for the squeamish (June 12, 2009)
